A 13-year-old boy participated in a violent protest outside a hotel in Newton Heath, Manchester, on July 31, linked to false online claims about a murder suspect. He wore a balaclava and was involved in missile throwing and assaults on police. Sentenced to a 12-month referral order, he expressed regret. Two men, Ryan Leckey and Darren Butler, received prison terms for violent disorder during the same incident, which included throwing objects and racist abuse.
