18% rise in Welsh households in temporary accommodation, with 1 in 215 families affected.

Research from Bevan Foundation and Shelter Cymru reveals an 18% rise in Welsh households in temporary accommodation, amounting to 1 in 215 families. In Wrexham, 942 households were placed in temporary housing between January and June 2024. Nearly 3,000 children are affected, with many stuck for over a year. The charities urge the Welsh Government to increase social housing investment, as only 30% of families found permanent homes last year.
