NSW government invests $5m in portable satellite stations for natural disaster connectivity.
The New South Wales (NSW) government is investing approximately $5 million in portable satellite internet stations to ensure connectivity during natural disasters. Four solar-powered units, each covering a 500-meter radius, will be deployed to support communities and emergency responders. These units will be available at disaster recovery centers and in satellite-equipped vehicles, assisting individuals in contacting loved ones, seeking government help, and filing insurance claims. Deployment is expected this summer.
