New Zealand's government launches $27.75m Low Emissions Heavy Vehicle Fund, aiming to replace 500 diesel vehicles by 2028.

New Zealand's government has introduced the Low Emissions Heavy Vehicle Fund (LEHVF), allocating $27.75 million to support the adoption of clean technologies in heavy vehicles. The fund will cover up to 25% of the costs for new zero and low-emission vehicles and retrofitting existing ones. The initiative aims to replace 500 diesel vehicles by 2028, potentially reducing carbon emissions by 366,622 tonnes. A review is planned in six months to assess the fund's effectiveness.
