European Union Chief Ursula von der Leyen has announced a €160 million ($180 million) aid package for Ukraine to address urgent energy and humanitarian needs as winter approaches. Of this funding, €100 million will come from frozen Russian assets. With about half of Ukraine's energy infrastructure destroyed due to the war, the EU aims to support repairs and renewable energy initiatives to help maintain heating and electricity supply amid ongoing challenges.
