Starting January 1, 2025, Telangana will implement a policy banning vehicles over 15 years old from roads, requiring them to pass a fitness test or be scrapped. Those passing can operate for an additional 3-5 years with a green tax. The government is also considering tax rebates to encourage scrapping, aiming to enhance road safety and reduce pollution. Over 30 lakh vehicles in the state are affected, contributing to numerous road accidents.
