The National Investigation Agency (NIA) executed raids on September 19, 2024, at five locations in Bihar, targeting activities linked to the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) or CPI (Maoist). This investigation stems from an earlier case initiated in August 2023, involving the arrests of Rohit Rai and Pramod Yadav, who confessed to extorting local contractors to fund Maoist operations. The NIA continues to seek additional evidence and suspects.
