Manitoba's Ethics Commissioner, Jeffrey Schnoor, determined that NDP cabinet minister Ian Bushie unintentionally violated the Conflict of Interest Act by not disclosing a renewed government contract for a gas bar and convenience store on Hollow Water First Nation. Although the contract predated Bushie's tenure, its renewal constituted a violation. The complaint, initiated by the Opposition Progressive Conservatives, did not lead to recommended penalties.
