Kenyan Senators are investigating the entry of substandard cooking oil into the market, linked to negligence by the Kenya National Trading Corporation (KNTC). The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) found that 44 of 73 imported consignments were inspected, revealing that eight contained 5.88 million liters of substandard oil. Concerns have arisen over six unapproved consignments that are now missing, potentially leading to their sale to consumers.
