Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has dissolved the caretaker chairmen of all 44 local government areas immediately, despite a recent two-month tenure extension approved by the state House of Assembly. This decision requires the chairmen to hand over their roles to Directors of Personnel Management. Local government elections are set for October 26. The governor acknowledged the contributions of the caretaker officials and suggested future collaboration.
