The I-565 widening project in Madison, Alabama, begins September 22, expanding the interstate to six lanes at a cost of $29 million. Managed by Wiregrass Construction, the project stretches from west of County Line Road to east of Wall Triana Highway, adding a third lane on each side and widening two bridges. Construction will mostly occur within existing lanes, with lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. expected for about two years.
