Mohsin Issa, co-owner of Asda, will step back from his executive role at the UK supermarket chain to focus on his new position as CEO of EG Group, a petrol station business. He retains ownership and will serve as a non-executive board member. Asda's chairman, Lord Stuart Rose, will temporarily assume Issa's responsibilities while the company searches for a new CEO, amid declining sales, with like-for-like sales down 2.1% for the first half of 2024.
