India has approved the development of its first space station module, Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS-1), scheduled for launch by December 2028. This initiative is part of an expanded Gaganyaan program, which will include eight missions aimed at advancing technologies for extended human spaceflight. The project is expected to foster scientific research and innovation, with a goal of establishing the operational station by 2035.
