Cameroon to gradually increase Lagdo Dam water releases from Sept 17, NIHSA assures no major flooding in Nigeria but advises vigilance.

Starting September 17, 2023, Cameroon will begin controlled water releases from the Lagdo Dam, initially at 100m³/s, increasing to 1,000m³/s within a week. The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) has assured that this will not lead to major flooding in Nigeria, but has advised vigilance in states along the Benue River.
