Ann Kathleen Simmons, a 47-year-old woman from Las Vegas, was killed on September 10 while walking on State Route 159 near Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. She was struck by a northbound gray 2006 Toyota Scion. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. This incident marks the 58th fatality reported this year by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol in the Southern Command jurisdiction.
