Daniel Finn, a 70-year-old farmer from County Cork, has pleaded guilty to the destruction of significant natural habitats at Stream Hill, Doneraile. Between March and August 2023, he uprooted 250 trees and removed 3.7 hectares of vegetation, damaging aquatic habitats. Described by the judge as "barbarism" and "vandalism," Finn was asked to consider a donation to an environmental charity to mitigate his punishment. Sentencing is set for October 21.
