Ukrainian Ombudsman reports execution of Ukrainian POW by Russian forces, violating Geneva Convention.
Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets has reported to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN that a photo on social media shows the execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war by Russian forces. The soldier, shown with a sword in his chest, was reportedly unarmed and bound. Lubinets condemned the act as a violation of the Geneva Convention and part of a broader pattern of war crimes against Ukrainian POWs, with numerous investigations ongoing.
