The Minnesota Twins acquired left-handed pitcher Cole Irvin from the Baltimore Orioles via waivers. Irvin, 30, adds depth to the Twins' rotation but is ineligible for the postseason due to his late-season acquisition. To make room, the team designated right-hander Randy Dobnak for assignment. The Twins are currently in a tight playoff race, leading the Detroit Tigers by 2.5 games for the final AL Wild Card spot.
