Cyprus and Greece are advancing discussions on the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI), a €2.4 billion project to create a high-speed electric cable network linking Europe to the Middle East via the Mediterranean. The GSI, designed to be the longest and deepest high voltage direct current interconnector at 1,240 km, aims for completion by 2030 with partial EU funding. However, ongoing jurisdiction disputes with Turkey could affect negotiations.
