The AFL has announced increases to the soft salary caps for both men's and women's leagues, with the AFL cap rising by $700,000 to $8.175 million by 2027 and the AFLW cap increasing by $300,000 to $1.375 million. These changes will be gradually implemented from 2025 to 2027. Clubs can also pay 20% of senior coaches' salaries outside the cap and claim additional deductions for professional development and travel costs. Changes to the healthcare model will enhance resources for player support.
