Beginning November 4, 2024, Wisconsin will adopt new Commercial Driver's License (CDL) testing guidelines based on the AAMVA Modernized Testing System (2022). This update will refine the Vehicle Inspections (VI) and Basic Control Skills (BCS) portions, emphasizing safety-critical elements and real-world driving scenarios. CDL students must retake all prior tests under the new system if they haven’t completed all portions before the change. They are advised to consult their testing agency for preparation.
