An Bord Pleanála has approved the University of Limerick's plan to convert a former Dunnes Stores supermarket in Limerick into its City Campus, disregarding its planning inspector's advice against the decision. UL purchased the site for €8.3 million in 2019 without a formal valuation, facing criticism for overspending by over €3 million. The new campus will integrate law, business, and technology disciplines, aligning with the Limerick Development Plan.
