A Turkish drone strike in northern Iraq's Nineveh province on Monday killed one member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and injured two others, including a senior official. The attack targeted a PKK meeting at the Makhmour camp. Turkey frequently conducts airstrikes against PKK militants, whom it considers terrorists, as part of its long-standing conflict that began in 1984, originally aimed at establishing an independent Kurdish state.
