1st ship-to-ship ammonia transfers conducted in Australia's Port of Dampier by GCMD for low-GHG iron ore trade.

The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) has successfully conducted the first ship-to-ship ammonia transfers in Australia's Port of Dampier. The tests involved the Green Pioneer and Navigator Global, transferring ammonia to assess future bunkering viability. This development supports low-GHG shipping routes for iron ore trade, which may require 1 to 1.5 million tonnes of ammonia by 2035, marking progress towards zero-emission fuels in maritime transport.
