On September 15, the Shreveport Fire Department responded to two house fires. The first, at 7:26 a.m. on Palmetto Lane, involved 27 firefighters and was controlled by 7:45 a.m.; occupants escaped with minor smoke inhalation. The second fire occurred at 12:14 p.m. on Dupont Street, where 24 firefighters contained the blaze within 12 minutes. No injuries were reported in either incident, and the Red Cross assisted affected families.
