Romania's unemployment rate dropped to 5% in Q2 2024, down 0.3% from Q1, with 421,000 unemployed out of an active population of 8.417 million. Men (72.4%) had a higher employment rate than women (56.3%), and youth unemployment (15-24) stood at 22.7%. By July 2024, employment rose by 0.5% year-over-year, adding 26,100 jobs, particularly in construction, health, and the HoReCa sectors, while manufacturing saw a decline.
