Reliance Power wins 500 MW battery storage contract from India's SECI, entering renewable energy sector.

Reliance Power has won a 500 MW battery storage contract from India's Solar Energy Corporation (SECI), marking its entry into the renewable energy sector. The project, part of a larger initiative for 1,000 MW of standalone battery systems, will use a build-own-operate model. Reliance's bid of ₹3.81999 lakh/MW/month is among the lowest in India's history for such tenders. The project, located in Rajasthan, is set for commissioning within 24 months.
