Polk County Attorney confirms no wrongdoing in January police shooting of Lucas Gilbertson, who threatened officers with a gun.

The Polk County Attorney's Office has determined that no wrongdoing occurred by police in the January 9 shooting death of Lucas Paul Gilbertson in East Grand Forks. After reviewing the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension's investigation, Attorney Greg Widseth concluded that Sgt. Aeisso Schrage's use of deadly force was justified, as Gilbertson posed a significant threat, pointing a gun at officers before being shot. Gilbertson had multiple pending criminal charges.
