A New South Wales jury discharged over manslaughter trial of Cecil Kennedy, accused of causing 2005 child drowning involving antidepressants.
A jury in New South Wales has been discharged after failing to reach a verdict in the manslaughter trial of Cecil Patrick Kennedy, accused of causing the death of 21-month-old Jordan Thompson in 2005. Prosecutors allege Kennedy administered antidepressants, contributing to the child's drowning, while the defense asserts it was accidental. Traces of amitriptyline were found in Jordan's system. The case is scheduled to return to court on October 4.
