Kansas allocates $6M for therapeutic foster homes and introduces SOUL Family for older, disabled youths.

Kansas is enhancing its foster care system by allocating $6 million to create therapeutic family foster homes that offer 24/7 care and involve families in children's services. A new legal option, SOUL Family, allows youths aged 16 and older to select a trusted adult to support them as they transition to adulthood. These initiatives aim to provide stable, permanent placements and address the needs of older and disabled youths in foster care.
