Kim Dong-wan, South Korea's first prominent weathercaster, died at 89 on Sunday. He began his career in 1959 with the Korea Meteorological Administration and later worked with TBC and MBC. Kim was celebrated for his engaging presentation style, which helped shape modern weather broadcasting. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Camellia Medal of the Order of Civil Merit in 2010.
