Guinea's military junta allocates 258 hectares of land to 20,000 forcibly evicted individuals.

Guinea's military junta has allocated 258 hectares of land to over 20,000 individuals forcibly evicted by previous governments, some waiting more than 25 years for compensation. This follows demolitions in Conakry by former president Alpha Conde in 2019 and earlier under president Lansana Conte in 1998. The state-owned company SONAPI will manage the land and facilitate rehousing. Victims' spokesman Samba Sow has urged for a compensation fund for those affected.
