Evangelical Fellowship of Canada raises concerns over pressures on disabled women to choose assisted suicide post-MAiD legalization.

The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC) has raised alarms about the pressures on women with disabilities to choose assisted suicide following the legalization of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) in 2021. In a submission to the UN, the EFC pointed out that many seek MAiD due to inadequate support, poverty, or housing issues. Additionally, it called for a permanent anti-trafficking strategy to protect vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls.
