Columbus, Ohio, hosted a gun buyback event organized by the Office of Violence Prevention and the Columbus Police Department, aimed at reducing gun violence by encouraging residents to surrender unwanted firearms for gift cards. Mayor Andrew Ginther highlighted the importance of preventing access to guns by those who shouldn't have them. The event saw a strong turnout, with plans for a repeat next year. All collected guns will be examined and destroyed.
