Chemical spill at Hazardous Waste Day event; car driver sent to hospital, event continues.
A chemical spill occurred in a car's trunk during a Hazardous Waste Day event at Owen Sound's Public Works Yard on Saturday around 10 a.m. The Owen Sound Fire Department responded, isolating the spill in collaboration with Transport Canada's CANUTEC. The car's driver was sent to the hospital for precautionary observation. The recovered chemical will be transported off-site, and the event continued as planned. The chemical's identity remains unknown.
