75-year-old Green River Killer Gary Ridgway transferred back to Washington State Penitentiary from King County Jail.

Gary Ridgway, the "Green River Killer," has been transferred back to Washington State Penitentiary after a brief stay in King County Jail for an "institutional hold." The 75-year-old is serving 49 consecutive life sentences for the murders of 48 women between 1982 and 1998. Although he pleaded guilty in 2003 to avoid the death penalty, he could still face capital charges if convicted of murders outside King County, despite Washington's death penalty abolition in April 2023.
