3-member Louisiana family hospitalized due to severe carbon monoxide poisoning from improperly placed generators.
A family of three in Houma, Louisiana, was hospitalized due to severe carbon monoxide poisoning from two generators improperly placed near their home. Responders found them unconscious and vomiting after receiving a call about breathing difficulties. High carbon monoxide levels, measured at 800 ppm, were found in the home. Fortunately, the family is now stable. Authorities urge proper generator use, recommending they be kept at least 20 feet away from residences.
