160 Irish parents seek High Court intervention for inadequate special needs education facilities.

Over 160 parents of autistic children in Ireland are seeking High Court intervention due to the lack of available special needs education facilities weeks into the school term. Many applications for school placements have been rejected, leaving some children without any education. The court has allowed six families to apply for orders against the Education Minister and the National Council for Special Education, with a test case hearing set for November.
