China proposes draft regulation for AI content labeling to safeguard national security and public interests.

China's Cyberspace Administration has proposed a draft regulation titled "Measures for Identifying AI-generated Synthetic Content" to standardize labeling of AI-generated materials, including text, images, audio, and video. The aim is to safeguard national security and public interests. Internet service providers must follow national standards and ensure clear labeling, while content platforms must help regulate and remind users to disclose AI-generated content. Public feedback is invited until October 14, 2024.
