Activist Sonam Wangchuk walks from Leh to Delhi advocating ecological protections and statehood for Ladakh.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk is walking from Leh to Delhi to urge the Indian government to honor a five-year-old promise. Joined by a growing group of supporters, he emphasizes the need for ecological protections in the upper Himalayas, which supply water to North India. Wangchuk is also advocating for statehood for Ladakh and inclusion under the 6th Schedule of the Indian Constitution, following the changes made after Article 370's abrogation in 2019.
