Gerard Keogh, 57, from Westmeath, Ireland, faced charges in Mullingar District Court for recklessly discharging a firearm. He allegedly pointed a double-barrel shotgun at his neighbor and fired two shots during a confrontation over his neighbor's 12-year-old son. The case, consented by the Director of Public Prosecutions for summary disposal, allows it to be resolved at the District Court level. Keogh did not enter a plea and is out on bail until October 24.
