42-year-old funeral director Alverna Cher Sheue Pin convicted for assisting ex-boyfriend's suicide, obstructing justice.

Alverna Cher Sheue Pin, a 42-year-old funeral director in Singapore, has been convicted of assisting her ex-boyfriend, 32-year-old Wee Jun Xiang, in committing suicide on May 16, 2020. The court found she intentionally aided Wee by using nitrogen gas in a car and later obstructed justice by disposing of evidence and providing false statements to police. She faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine. Cher is currently out on bail and will return to court on October 11 for sentencing.
