In July 2024, an 18-year-old woman in Edmonton was shot at by 19-year-old Jackito Guiawan after she asked a driver to stop revving a car. Guiawan was arrested in Yellowknife on August 29, following a Canada-wide warrant. He faces multiple firearm charges, including discharging a firearm with intent. While the woman was not physically injured, she continues to experience mental and emotional trauma from the incident. Police also found drugs and firearms during his arrest.
