TTC ends free subway Wi-Fi due to decreased usage, reliability issues, and rising costs.

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) will end free public Wi-Fi in subway stations at the year's end due to decreased usage, reliability issues, and rising costs. Usage of the TConnect system dropped by 65% since 5G was rolled out. Although Rogers Communications offered to upgrade the Wi-Fi infrastructure, estimated at $17 million, the TTC opted against the investment, citing it as unwise.
