Pakistan's National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) fined K-Electric PKR 10 million due to 33 electrocution fatalities in Karachi from 2022-2023. NEPRA ordered K-Electric to compensate each victim's family PKR 3.5 million and hire Muhammad Aslam, a victim's heir. Despite these actions, K-Electric claims it was not negligent in the 32 cases investigated. The company has 15 days to pay the fine.
