Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has urged Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to prioritize addressing the irrigation backlog in Washim district. He proposed allocating 200 million cubic meters of water from the Upper Painganga dam to combat water scarcity. To facilitate this, a technical report is needed for constructing necessary infrastructure. Activist Sachin Kulkarni also recommended mini-projects and ponds in the district's six talukas to enhance irrigation.
