The Indian Air Force (IAF) is pushing for increased production of its indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A to meet rising demands and potential exports. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari emphasized the need for public-private partnerships to enhance production capabilities. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is under pressure to fulfill orders for 180 aircraft, while engine supply delays from General Electric have posed challenges. A larger LCA-Mk2 is also in development.
