India and China agree to expedite border disengagement efforts in St. Petersburg talks.

During talks in St. Petersburg, India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreed to expedite efforts for complete disengagement in the eastern Ladakh border standoff. Emphasizing the importance of peace and adherence to the Line of Actual Control (LAC), they acknowledged the bilateral relationship's significance for regional stability. The two nations have been in a military standoff since May 2020.
