The Hauna banana processing plant in Zimbabwe's Manicaland province will begin operations in November, aiming to extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables and reduce food waste. Supported by the Women Affairs ministry, the $450,000 facility will directly benefit 600 farmers and indirectly aid over 2,000 more. This initiative is part of a larger effort to enhance agricultural value addition in the region, following other successful processing plants.
