Richard Zeitlin, 54, from Las Vegas, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in a Manhattan federal court. Between 2017 and 2020, he misled donors into giving tens of millions to what they thought were charities, while up to 90% of the funds went to his companies or political action committees. He faces a recommended prison sentence of 10 to 13 years and will forfeit $8.9 million, with sentencing scheduled for December 10.
